You’re on a beautiful mountain hike, the wind is blowing through the trees and the birds are singing. Except you can’t hear any of that over your own huffing and puffing. Better yet, you’re trying to hide your fierce breathing from your friends. Is this something you’ve experienced? I HAVE!
Most people consider breathing to be an involuntary act, that we’re born doing naturally. Well, it is, but you can also consciously control your breathing. Conscious breathing has numerous health benefits, and will reduce that feeling of being “gased” on hikes.
Through becoming a freedive and yoga instructor, I’ve learned various breathing methods, that inadvertently improved my breath control while hiking. I’m honored to share some of these techniques with Hawaii’s hikers at ULOHA’s talk story event, on Monday, May 20, 2019. You can check out more details about this FREE event on the flier below, or RSVP @ https://ulohabreathebetter.eventbrite.com
Our freediving courses are a combination of classroom, confined water, and open water sessions, to bring you hands on experience and safety so that you can safely test your limits. Check out the video below to get a sneak peak into what we’re all about.
Super fun day with some friends out in the water! Nothing like freediving through some old lava tubes. Mask got a little foggy or dare I say “voggy” 😂 but a great time nonetheless.
For my birthday, I had the pleasure of discussing Freediving on ThinkTech Hawaii! My first ad-libbing experience in a studio was a blast (despite a few minor faux pas).😉 😁
